Software
GenSeed was written in Perl and requires the Perl interpreter, version 5.6.0 or higher (http://www.perl.org).
GenSeed requires and is compatible with BLAST version 2.10.15 (Altschul et al., 1997) or higher and CAP3 version 04/15/05 (Huang & Madan, 1999) or newer.
GenSeed uses Cross_match, only if vector masking is required. GenSeed generates *.ace assembly files that can be easily inspected using Consed. Cross_match and Consed are components of the Phred/Phrap/Consed package.
HTML browser. GenSeed produces text and graphical output files in HTML format. These files can be inspected in any HTML browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera Browser or Internet Explorer.
